BRASS 101. Basics of Avalanche and Risk Mitigation
LSC is proud to have collaborated with BRASS Avalanche to host a snow safety presentation for all LSC families, coaches and staff. Snow safety is extremely important, and we want to do our part to continue improving awareness and education within our community.
Where: Evergreen Country Day School
When: Wednesday, December 9th
5:45–6:30 PM: Pizza, Salad, Chips & Salsa and Non-Alc beverages/Selters
6:30–8:00 PM: BRASS Avalanche Presentation.
8pm-8:30 PM Mingle and clean-up
BRASS stands for Bryce and Ronnie Athlete Snow Safety and was founded by Cindy and Steve Berlack after they tragically lost their son Ronnie in an avalanche while training with the U.S. Ski Team in Austria.
One of the most important messages behind BRASS is that avalanche awareness isn't only for people skiing in the backcountry. Avalanches can occur in places we may not traditionally think of as avalanche terrain, which is why education and awareness are so important for our athletes, coaches, and families.
This event is optional (and free), but we highly encourage everyone to attend and help us continue increasing snow safety awareness throughout our community.
If you would like to learn more about Bryce and Ronnie’s story, BRASS Avalanche, and their mission, please visit the BRASS Avalanche website.
The event is open to all LSC coaches, athletes, and parents and is completely free to attend.

Support the Club
LSC is a nonprofit, and everything we do - the coaching, the venue set up, the programming - runs on the generosity of this community as much as it does on tuition. If you're in a position to chip in, even a small amount makes a real difference.
