The Venue
World-Class Training Environment
At Loveland Ski Club, our training venue is the foundation of everything we do. Through our longstanding partnership with Loveland Ski Area, athletes consistently gain access to some of the earliest on-snow training in North America. Thanks to one of the country's most reliable early-season snowmaking operations, training has historically begun as early as the final week of October.
Our athletes train on two dedicated FIS-homologated race trails—Switchback and Twist—providing a professional training environment designed specifically for alpine racing. Located at over 11,000 feet in elevation, our venue offers exceptional snow retention, consistent surface quality, and reliable training conditions from November through mid-April.
From December through April, and again in late May, Twist becomes one of the premier lane training venues in the United States, hosting Loveland Ski Club athletes alongside collegiate programs, ski academies, national teams, and clubs from across Colorado and around the country. This daily training environment exposes our athletes to a culture of excellence while creating opportunities to train alongside some of the fastest racers in North America.
Our lane training program is built around a simple mission: provide world-class early-season training in a professional, organized, and athlete-focused environment. From high-quality race lanes and efficient hill operations to outstanding communication and support, every detail is designed to maximize preparation, allow age appropriate development, and help athletes perform at their highest level.
Beyond the Race Course
When athletes step outside the training venue, they gain access to one of Colorado's most iconic mountains. Loveland Basin rises to 13,010 feet, making it one of the highest lift-served ski areas in North America.
With more than 1,800 acres of lift-served terrain, athletes have immediate access to an incredible variety of skiing, including expansive alpine bowls, challenging steeps, technical moguls, tree skiing, groomed terrain, and high-alpine ridge lines. This diverse mountain allows athletes to build tactical awareness, adaptability, and all-mountain skiing skills that directly translate to faster, more confident racing.
Few programs in the country combine elite race training, one of the longest on-snow seasons in North America, and immediate access to such an exceptional variety of terrain. At Loveland Ski Club, athletes don't just train more—they train better.
Support the Club
LSC is a nonprofit, and everything we do - the coaching, the venue set up, the programming - runs on the generosity of this community as much as it does on tuition. If you're in a position to chip in, even a small amount makes a real difference.
