1 DAY - SATURDAYS - December 2023 - April 2024

The 1-Day YSL program is an introduction to ski racing through the Youth Ski League race series. This group trains on Saturdays, split between Loveland Basin and it's expansive terrain offerings, and Loveland Valley, home to Loveland Ski Club's dedicated race training venues. Sunday race opportunities occur throughout the ski season.

The 1-Day YSL program is staffed by highly qualified LSC coaches with guidance from upper levels of the program, and done in accordance of LSC's overarching athlete development plan. Completing the 1-Day YSL program sets the athlete up for further steps in ski racing through increasing training days at 2-Day YSL or increasing the level of competition at Age Class racing. At this level, athletes are introduced to Slalom and Giant Slalom.

Additional drop-in Sundays and holiday camps are available at an added cost.

Athletes must be able to ski parallel on blues, and be familiar with more challenging terrain. They must be comfortable and enjoy skiing and being outdoors for 3-4 hours at a time. Self sufficiency is important in regards to taking care of themselves: lunch, bathroom, equipment on and off, etc.

2 DAY - SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS - DECEMBER 2023 - April 2024

The 2-Day YSL program provides Youth Ski League athletes with more training opportunities to set them up for reaching their personal best in the YSL race series. Training on Saturdays and Sundays, with training divided between Directed Free-skiing, Gateless Training, and Gated Training. Staffed by coaches who have knowledge and experience in both ski racing and using the challenging terrain the mountain provides outside of the race course, athletes are able to push themselves and realize high levels of personal success. Training is on Saturdays and Sundays, with included holiday camps. At this level, athletes are introduced to Slalom and Giant Slalom.

Athletes should be comfortable skiing black runs and should have at least one set of race skis.
